It's a New Year

An update is long overdue, so here is a recap of last year and something new. Songs and details can be found on the songs page. 2007 brought two official fight entries ("Couldn't Have Been Worse" and "And Counting"), one unsubmitted demo, five Nur Ein songs, and two demo covers ("Rock Salt and Nails" and "Here Comes the Sun"). With the arrival of the new year comes our first entry into the traditional SongFight! Gift of Music (or GOM). Our cover of "In the Aeroplane Over the Sea" (by Neutral Milk Hotel) was finished this past weekend and is now online.

More Nur Ein

We are still in the middle of the Nur Ein sidefight competition over at SongFight! There have been two more songs submitted since the last update, Brownie Points and State of Emergency. The results will be announced tomorrow as the field of contestants is whittled down to eleven.

Almost Forgotten

I was thinking about changing the front page in some way months ago. And then I never did anything about it. There are not any changes yet, but it is about time a quick update was added to point out a few new songs and such. The songs page finally has some information on it. Most of the new stuff can be found through the links there. There has only been one official SongFight! entry, Couldn't Have Been Worse, since the last update. One other song, Ten Lies, made it as far as a demo but was not submitted.

In other news the Nur Ein II competition is underway over at SongFight! I made it through to the first round with Let Me In and we are awaiting word tomorrow on the decision from the judges for Sister Cocaine to see who will advance into the second round.

While I am at it (and who knows when the next update will be), my sister and I are planning to attend and perform at SongFight! Live this year in Atlanta (August 16-18). More details should follow as the event draws near.

Song Updates

There has not been much time to work on new music lately, but a few new songs have been added. The latest is a cover of I'd Really Love To See You Tonight for the Yacht Rock cover fight (at SongFight!). The other two are quick recordings done for a workday song skirmish a month or so back. Those are Interpret This Dream and Can I Still Be An Astronaut?. The mp3 file and additional details can be found via the title links.

Website Makeover

A new look and feel has been introduced for the website. All the sections should now have working links along with some new content. New audio clips, videos, and pictures have also been added from the recent annual SongFight! Live event held this year in Santa Cruz, CA. Some changes are still in progress, but things should be popping into place soon.
